This is a fine print reproduction of a vintage travel poster promoting tourism to Arizona via Trans World Airlines (TWA). The poster features a boot with a scene of the Grand Canyon embroidered on the side. Bursting from the boot are different images representing the Southwest. An Indian chief, golf clubs, a mission, cacti among others.
David Klein was born in El Paso, Texas in 1918 and moved to Los Angeles for art school. He served for the U.S. Army during WWII and produced illustrations for the U.S. Armed Forces. After the war he moved to New York City, where he began working in the Broadway Theater District. He is best known however for his contributions to the world of commercial advertising for the tourism industry, most notably, TWA. Klein resided in New York until his death on December 9, 2005 at the age of 87.
