This is a fine print reproduction of a Colorado railroads map that was featured in a 1943 publication of Trains Magazine. The map was created by Linn Wescott and published by Kalmbach Publishing Co. based in Milwaukee Wisconsin.
The map focuses on the state of Colorado and the many historic, active, and proposed railroads that link the mountain communities and mining towns with those that reside on the front range. Surrounding the map of Colorado are fourteen inset maps that show important areas in greater detail. Additional illustrations depict the various trains utilized in the mountains as well as the picturesque and famous Georgetown Loop. The bottom section of the map includes the title and logos of all railroad companies that operate in Colorado, such as the Union Pacific, Santa Fe, Rock Island, and Burlington Route to name a few.
